Bart Scott full name is Bartholomew Edward. He is an American football player, and he was a linebacker in National Football league for eleven seasons. He was born on 18 August 1980.

In 2002, after playing college football for he was signed by the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent.

In 2006 Scott was selected to the Pro Bowl. He played seven years with Ravens. After that, he signed with New York Jets in 2009. He also worked as a National Football League analyst for CBS television. ” Source: Bart Scott Wiki ”

Bart Scott Early Years:

Scott admitted to Southeastern High School in Detroit. He played running back, and linebacker on the football team and his Coach was Drake Wilkins.

His assistant coach, Reinard Davis, recalled that Bart Scott went 110% on every snap and never came off the ground. Scott recorded 76 tackles during his senior year.

More colleges sent recruiting letters, but low SAT scores made colleges wary of offering Scott a scholarship. Later Scott improved his test scores to ensure eligibility. Scott was excellent on the field during July workouts from a Michigan high school all-star game.

He caught the interest of coach Bryan Masi. Masi contacted to Dan Enos. Enos was his friend, and he was an assistant coach at Southern Illinois. The staff of Southern Illinois decided to give a scholarship to Scott Bart.

Scott goes to Southern High School every year to talk with students. In 2005, he paid for new uniforms and equipment. Scott provided money to upgrade the weight room in 2007.

Scott played as a linebacker for the Southern Salukis football team.  As a junior, Scott was suspended from the team for the final six games of the season following an argument with defensive coordinator Michael Vit.

He chastised Scott for eating during the meeting. The team’s whole coaching staff was fired, and Jerry Kill was appointed as the new head coach at the end of the year.

Kill was impressed by Scott, and he called him “a captain and leader.” Scott led the team with 127 tackles and 5.5 sacks during his senior year.

Kill told about Scott’s abilities to many NFL teams but only the Baltimore Ravens sent out a scout to judge Scott. The scout was impressed by Scott and  Scott signed a contract with the Ravens in 2002.

Profesional Career:

Scott was a special teams standout during his first three years in Baltimore. In his rookie season, he played all 16 games and recorded five tackles and one interception on defense while tying with other team members to lead the team in special teams tackles at 17.

NFL Debut:

On September 8, 2002, Scott made his NFL debut at the Carolina Panthers. He played in all sixteen games in the next season and one post-season game. Scott recorded nine tackles and one fumble recovery on defense.

He ranked second on the team due to his 19 special teams tackles. He played in 13 games in the 2004 season and made 17 special teams tackles, including five sacks on defense playing as a safety and linebacker.

Scott saw significant playing time during the 2005 season due to the hamstring injury of Ray Lewis. He played in all 16 games and making ten starts. Scott ended the season with 119 tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, four sacks and four passes defended.

Contract with Ravens:

Scott signed a three-year contract with Ravens in $13.5 million, and he turned down an offer from the Cleveland Browns. He finished the season with a career-high 135 tackles, two interceptions, nine passes defended and 9.5 sacks.

Scott played in the Pro Bowl in Hawaii as an alternate player, and he replaces his teammate Ray Lewis. He selected to the Associated Press’ 2nd  All-Pro team.

Scott also played in all 16 games for the second season of All-Pro team, and he recorded 131 tackles, three passes defended and one sack.

Controversies:

Scott was fined two times, and due to penalizing it bring a significant impact on the Bart Scott net worth. He punished for unsportsmanlike behavior in the fourth quarter of the Monday Night Football game against the New England Patriots on December 3, 2007.

The second time Scott fined after he picked up the official’s flag from the first call and threw it.

New York Jets:

Scott became a free agent in 2009. Both the New York Jets and Ravens vied for Scott’s services. The Jets offered Scott for one more year, and he agreed. On 27th  February 2009, Scott signed the six-year contract in $48 million.

Scott played all games in his first season with New York and ending the year with 92 tackles and a sack.

On January 16, 2011, the New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots in an AFC Divisional Playoff match. After the game, ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio come up to Scott for an interview.

Controversies:

After Jets missed the playoffs after losing their last three matches the next day Scott was penalized $10,000 for showing an immoral gesture in front of a cameraman. He paid many fines in his professional career, and it affects Bart Scott net worth. At last, the Jets released Scott on 19 February 2013.

Scott Bart Personal Life:

Scott grew up in a relatively weak area of the east side of Detroit, and it had a drug infested area. Bart Scott received direction from various sources including his grandmother, his parents, Dorita Adams and Bart Capers, Gwendolyn Pippen Osborne, and his high school coach Drake Wilkins. His sisters, Curtice and Dawnyell also gave guidance to him.

Scott Bart has married to Darnesha, and they have two children together. Their names are Bartholomew and Gisele. Due to the concussion problem, Scott does not want that his son Bartholomew to play football.
